Big Hearts
For children ages 3 to 5
Don’t underestimate the value of play!
At the Village, we strongly believe play is the best model for teaching young children. It helps build a strong foundation for a happy, healthy and confident child. Play reinforces their learning in multiple areas, including cognition, motor and social skills, and vocabulary. Our Big Hearts will have opportunities to work in centers that are intentionally designed for them to practice and develop kindergarten readiness skills, while nourishing their curiosity and creativity. In addition, we love to bring cultural diversity lessons in our classroom.
In the Big Hearts classroom, your child’s love of learning will grow as our teachers create a print rich environment, combined with a hands-on and open-ended learning approach with opportunities to learn about the natural world. Children will interpret what they learn by experimenting with science, and through block play, which promotes mathematical and critical thinking skills. They will be engaged with sensory materials that provide endless possibilities to sort, build, count and to design ephemeral art. Teacher guided activities such as arts and crafts will also be part of the daily activities.
Teachers document children’s milestones throughout the year and as children grow and learn. We focus on an academic-based curriculum centered around reading and writing. Our students have their own class time to develop letter and word knowledge and hone their phonological skills. They can ask and answer questions, tell stories and comprehend bigger concepts about the world around them as the year goes on.
Start now.
Remember forever!
If your child is 2 years old by August 31, it’s time to prepare for their academic future. Enroll your child for the next school year.
